Jovan Owusu-Nepaul, A young man with a passion for ‘revitalising the constituency’ and a ‘desire for change’ was selected on Thursday in anticipation for a General election later this year. Jovan visited the constituency on Saturday.
Jovan’s Statement
“It is the honour of my life to be our Parliamentary Candidate, and I would like to offer my heartfelt gratitude for the warm welcome Clacton CLP, and members of the community have already extended to me. I know we can mount a campaign to give us a fighting chance of winning the next election and give residents in places like Clacton, Frinton, Walton-on-the-Naze and the surrounding villages a stronger voice in Westminster.”
Labour’s core policies for Clacton are to
– Revitalise the high street
– Bring down NHS waiting times
– Reduce school class sizes
– Fix the potholes
– Bring back better bus services
– Restore the dignity in elderly care
Jovan also has a keen eye on the youth of the constituency wanting to enhance the job prospects for school leavers by “Ensuring young people don’t have to ‘get out, to get on’” Discussing how many young locals have to commute or move to city further afield such as London to find a decent opportunity.
